Introduction Zirconia ceramic seal ring
Zirconia ceramic seal ring has proven itself to be useful and helpful for exhaust valves and flaps. Its excellent surface properties, high strength, low Young’s modulus and high abrasion resistance are paired with a thermal expansion coefficient comparable to steel, making it an ideal material for composite steel bearings working at high temperatures.
Today bearing bushes for exhaust flaps work without displaying any signs of wear at operating temperatures reaching 500 °C, i.e. in environments where conventional materials fail or demonstrate a significantly shorter service life. The outstanding thermal properties of zirconium oxide ceramic material combined with our expertise in precision components result in the perfect solution for exhaust flap bearings.
